Change your Meet background

You can replace your background with an image in Google Meet, using the default images supplied, or by uploading your own image. 

Use Meet polls

Polls allow you to quickly survey your audience to identify further topics for discussion or to test understanding of the meeting content. Meeting moderators can set up multiple questions that are visible only to them, and launch them as polls as required during the meeting. 

Use Meet Q&A

The Q&A feature in Meet allows users to ask questions and upvote other questions asked.  Moderators can then choose to answer the most common questions during the call. When the meeting ends, the moderator will receive a copy of all questions via email so that they can follow up if required. 

Use Breakout rooms

Breakout rooms can be used to divide meeting participants into smaller groups during a video call. Participants can switch between breakout rooms and return to the main room at any time. 

Use Whiteboards in Meet

With Jamboard and Google Meet, you can create or open existing jams while in a Meet call, allowing you to use the jam tools virtually to host collaborative brainstorming sessions in real-time. 

Send a chat message in a meeting

You can chat to contacts in the meeting, if you wish to share information with them without interrupting the flow of the meeting e.g. add to notes. Adjust your meeting video quality

If you’re experiencing a poor network connection, or delays to the audio or video on your call, you may need to adjust your video resolution. You can set the image quality that others will see from your device, and the quality you will receive from other guests in the meeting. 

Eject an attendee from a meeting

Record a meeting 

When you record a meeting, it will be be recorded as a video, with all sounds and screen sharing included in the recording. When recording is complete, the file will be stored automatically in the meeting organiser’s My Drive.
