Can I set page-level permissions to control who can edit the pages of my site?
No, you can only set permissions for the site as a whole.
Is it possible to set up templates for new pages in a site?
You can't set up templates for pages, but on the Pages tab on the right-hand side of the screen, you can click on the ellipses next to a page and duplicate that page, then make the required changes.
Can you provide a chat room/forum facility on a page in a Google Site?
Yes, you can set up a Google Group and invite everyone that you wish to take part in the discussion, or allow everyone in your organisation to join the group. You can add the group to your site by embedding the code for the group.
Can you use vertical navigation on a Google Site?
Yes, you can choose between horizontal or vertical navigation. Position the mouse near the top-left corner of the screen, just under the Sites icon, then click on the cog that appears.
Can you create list pages in new Google Sites?
No, not at this point in time.
Is it possible to 'wrap' text around an uploaded image on a page?
No - you can add an image and move it to the left or right of a text box, but the text won't wrap around. The text will stay in it's own column while the image also stays in its own column.
Can I set a different page of my site as the home page?
Yes. Click on the Pages tab on the right-hand side of the screen, then position the mouse over the page you wish to set as the home page. Click on the ellipses, then choose Set as home page.
Can I set up my own type styles and sizes, for text, headings, etc.
No, you can currently only use the options available on the formatting toolbar.
Can I create my own themes?
Not at this time.
How can I add a custom Favicon to my Google Site?
Click on the ellipses along the top of the site screen, then choose the Edit Favicon option.
I can't see a Search icon in my site. How can I add it?
The Search icon will only show when you view a published site - it will not show in preview mode.
How can I hide a page from the menu without deleting the page itself?
Click on the Pages tab on the right-hand side of the screen, then position the mouse over the page you wish to hide. Click on the ellipses, then choose Hide from navigation.
How can I delete a site I no longer need?
Right-click over a site on the Sites home page to view options to rename or remove a site.
Can I convert a classic Google Site to a new site?
Yes. If the classic site is eligible to be converted, you will see a message along the top of the site - click on the Try it now link to convert your site.
Can I upload an existing site I have built into Google Sites?
No, Google Sites does not allow the uploading of HTML, CSS and JavaScript files due to security reasons.
