Can I save Google Slides in other formats e.g. PowerPoint?
You can use the File menu and Download As command to save a Google Slide presentation in another format, including PDF.
If I share a Slides presentation, will I be notified when a change is made to the file?
You can view the revision history of the presentation to see all changes made to the presentation over time. In a presentation, view revision history by clicking on the File menu and choosing See Revision History.
If you are using the Comments feature to collaborate on a presentation, you can be notified of any new comments made to the presentation discussion.
Can I change the owner of a presentation I no longer need to access?
Yes, you can set any collaborator on the presentation as the new owner via the Share screen.
Can I remove a collaborator I have shared a presentation with?
Yes, but only if you are the owner of the presentation.
Can I choose the way in which my colleagues can access my files?
Yes, people you choose to share the presentation with can be given permission to edit or view the presentation, or to be able to add comments. Click on the Share button to change all sharing settings.
Can I share a presentation with people outside of my organisation?
Yes, as long as your administrator has enabled this setting, you can share a presentation with anyone, regardless of whether they have a Gmail account or not.
The Search box doesn’t seem to find presentation that have been shared with me. How can I access them via Search?
In the Shared with me folder, right-click over the shared file and choose Add to My Drive.
What happens if I delete a file that’s been shared with me?
If you delete a presentation from your Drive that was shared with you, the presentation won’t be deleted but will simply be removed from your Drive view. You can restore the presentation by finding it in the Shared with me folder and adding it to your My Drive again.
Which features from PowerPoint will be lost when converting a presentation to Google Slides?
Features to note:
Vertical text will be converted to horizontal text in tables
WordArt effects will be lost
Charts will be converted to static images
SmartArt will be converted to grouped shapes
Footers will be converted to static text on each slide
Picture bullets will be converted to standard bullets
Some animation and transition effects will be converted to standard fades
Is there a size limit for Google Slides?
If you convert a presentation into Google Slides, it can be up to 100 MB in size.
Can I add slide numbers to my presentation?
Yes. To add numbers to the bottom-right corner of slides in a presentation:
To add a number to a specific slide only, ensure that slide is displayed on screen
Click on the Insert menu and choose Slide Numbers
Ensure On is selected
To leave any title slides in the presentation without numbers, check the Skip title slides box
Click on Apply to add numbers to all slides, or Apply to Selected to add a number to the current slide only
