Format page sections
Google Sites allows you to create web pages with defined horizontal sections, showing all relevant information in one strip on the page. Sections can be formatted so that they have different background colours and images, to make them stand out and group related items together.
To set the background of a section:
Position the mouse in the left margin of the section you wish to change
Click on the Section Background icon
Choose the section style you wish to use - standard, light emphasis or dark emphasis
To add an image to the background of the section, click on Image
To upload an image from a local or network drive:
After selecting Image, choose Upload
Locate the image you wish to add
Click on the Open button
To insert an image from Google Drive:
After selecting Image, choose Select Image
Click on Google Drive along the top of the dialog box
Locate the image you wish to add
Click on Select
To reset the style of a section, click on the Section Background icon and choose Standard.
