The menu displays horizontally in the top-right corner of the site by default, but you can switch to showing a vertical sidebar menu if you prefer. You can also set other site options, including a logo, navigation colour, search options and more.

Brand settings

You can add a logo to show in the top-left corner of each page in the site, and can add an image to use as a favicon on the browser tab displaying your site.

You can add an icon to show on each page in your Google Site that visitors can click on to find out the date on which the last edit to that page was made. You can also allow your site viewers to send feedback or ask a question about your site from a standard Content Form that can be viewed from any page on your site.

If you use Google Analytics, you can set this up to show analytics for your Google site, such as visitor numbers and geographical locations of your audience.

Adding an announcement banner to the site

You can create an announcement banner on your site to communicate important messages to your visitors. Information will be displayed in a banner at the top of the home page, or all pages of the site, as required. 

The banner will show on the home page or all pages as set.
