You can use page layouts in Google Sites to set the position of text, images and other items on the page. There are a number of layouts that can be used and once they have been added to a page, you can add content to each placeholder in the layout as required.

To add a layout to a page:

To add text to a layout, click on any Click to edit text link and type the text you wish to show in that position of the layout. Click away from the placeholder when all text has been added.

To add an image or other item, click on any box on the layout with a plus symbol on it, then choose to upload or select an image, or choose From Drive to add a file or folder from Drive. You can also choose add a video, map or calendar to the placeholder.
