When you start a meeting, the settings will default to your system microphone and speakers. If you are using a headset, or an external microphone and headphones, you will need to set Google Meet to use these in the call.
To change your audio and video settings in a meeting:
Click on the ellipses along the bottom of the screen
Choose Settings
Ensure the Audio tab is selected
Choose the Microphone you wish to use by clicking on the drop-down arrow and choosing the required option
Choose the Speakers you wish to use by clicking on the drop-down arrow and choosing the required option - you can click on Test to play a test sound on the selected speakers
Click on the Video tab to choose the webcam you wish to use
Choose Adjust video lighting to make it easier to see your camera feed against a bright background
Choose Framing to ensure you always show in the centre of your webcam feed
Click on the close button in the top-right corner of the dialog box when complete
