Gmail / Getting Started with Gmail

Forward a message

TRY IT OUT

You can forward an entire conversation to someone else, or forward an individual thread only. By default, any attachments in the message will also be included in the forwarded message.

To forward an entire conversation to someone:

  • Click on the Forward button at the bottom of the last message.

  • Address the message by clicking to the right of To and typing the email address you wish to forward the message to, or by clicking on the To link and choosing a contact to send the message to

  • Enter any supporting text you wish to include with the original messages

  • Click on the Send button to forward the conversation

To forward an individual thread within a conversation:

  • Click on the conversation in the Inbox if it is not already open

  • Click on the sender or subject of the thread you wish to forward - this will expand the thread and show the Ellipses menu for that message

  • Click on the Ellipses and choose Forward

  • Address the message and add any supporting text as required

  • Click on the Send button
