When you are working in a document, all changes will be recorded, regardless of who they were made by. This allows you to view old versions and revert to an earlier version if changes have since been made in error.
To view the versions of a document:
Click on the File menu and Version History
Choose See Version history
A list of all major revisions will display on the right-hand side of the screen - click on a revision to show the document, spreadsheet or presentation as it was revised on that date:
To revert the document to the revision currently showing, losing all changes made since, click on the Restore this version button along the top of the screen
To return to the document, click on the Back arrow near the top-left corner of the screen.
When you open a shared document, you can now quickly see any changes made to the document since you last viewed it. If multiple people have made changes, their changes will be coloured to show who made which change.
To view recent changes in a document:
Open the document as normal
Click on See new changes along the top of the screen, or click on the File menu and choose See new changes
All changes will be highlighted on screen:
Deleted text will show as strike-through text
Inserted text will show with background shading
Note that formatting changes such as font, text colour and alignment will not show
All people that have made changes to the document will be listed along the left-hand side of the screen - changes that they have made to the document will be shown in the colour displayed under their profile picture.
Use the arrows near the top-right corner of the screen to navigate through the new revisions:
Click on the See Full History link to view the document's full revision history.
To return to the document, click on the Back arrow near the top-left corner of the screen:
