If you wish to escalate a chat conversation to a video call, you can add a Google Meet link to your chat conversation, so that you and the person you are chatting to can join the meeting.
Click on the Video Meeting to add a Hangouts Meet link to the message that you will both be able to join.
A Google Meet link will be added to the message box - click on Send to send the link:
You can both click on the Join meeting icon to join the Google Meet video call.
A new Meet tab will open in your browser - click on the Join Now button to join the meeting.
