Use appointment slots
Appointment slots can be used to allow colleagues to reserve time in your calendar e.g. for training sessions or one-to-one appointments at a time convenient to your customers. Once you have added appointment slots to your calendar, anyone viewing your calendar will be able to book a slot.
To create appointment slots in your calendar:
Click on the date and time for the first appointment slot in your calendar
Click on the Appointment Slots option
Add a Title for the group of events
Choose the start date and time of the first slot
Choose the end date and time of the last slot
Choose the duration of each slot
If you want to add further details, such as specific guests to be invited to all slots or a meeting room to hold each appointment in, click on the More options link
When all details have been entered, click on Save
A single calendar event will be added to your calendar, showing from the start time of the first slot to the end time of the last slot. Appointment slots can be identified by a grid icon in the calendar event.
To allow people to book an appointment slot in your calendar:
Click on the event in your calendar
Right-click over the Go to appointment page for this calendar link
Choose Copy link address from the shortcut menu displayed
You can now share the copied link with everyone that you want to be able to book an appointment slot. Note that in order to view the appointment slots, your colleague must sign in to a Google account.
When a colleague visits the URL, they will see their own Google calendar with all appointment slots showing as buttons in the relevant time slots.
To book a slot:
Click on the slot you wish to book
Click on Save
Choose to view the event in Google Calendar, or to stay in the appointment slot screen
The slot you have booked will show in your own Google Calendar with a status of Busy.
A new appointment will be added to the appointment slot organiser, with your name added as a meeting attendee.
