Add a custom video background
While you can add your own custom video background to Google Meet, this involes using the developer tools that come with Google Chrome, so should be attempted by more advanced users only. If you find you make a mistake at any time while trying this, simply press Ctrl F5 to refresh your browser.
To add a custom video as a background to Google Meet:
Click on the ellipses along the bottom of the screen
Choose Apply visual effects
The effects pane will display.
Right-click over the Upload a background image button
Choose the Inspect command from the shortcut menu
The code behind Meet will be displayed. Don't worry - you can't make any permanent changes here - if anything goes wrong, simply press Ctrl F5 to refresh your browser.
Scroll down the code to find the following line:
Click on the line, after the image/webp text and type , video/mp4 so that line matches the following:
You can now close the code pane using the X in the top-right corner:
Now, when you click on the button to add a new background, you will be able to choose both images and video files.
