Start a meeting from Gmail
You can use the Meet links on the left-hand side of the Gmail screen to start or join a meeting in Google Meet. You can also start a meeting from the chat pane that appears under these links.
Starting a new meeting
You can start a new Google Meet video meeting directly from your Gmail screen.
Click on the Meet icon on the left-hand side of the Gmail screen
Click on New meeting
Click on the Send invitation button to copy the meeting invite link or send it via email
Click on Join now to join the meeting
The meeting will open in a new browser tab - click on Join Now to join the meeting.
Joining a meeting from Gmail
You can list all of your upcoming meetings in Gmail and join any meeting with a single click.
Click on the Meet icon on the left-hand side of the Gmal screen
All of your upcoming meetings will be listed - click on a meeting to view its details
Click on the Join now button to join the meeting
Starting a meeting with a specific peson in Gmail
You can start a meeting with anyone in the organisation by positioning the mouse over their name in an email message, then clicking on the Start a video call button.
Open a message that includes the person you want to start a meeting with
Position the mouse over their name and click on the Start a video call button
A new meeting will start with their email address entered in the Invitation dialog box. You can click on Invite to invite them to the meeting.
