Respond to a message
When you click on a group, you will see all messages in the group’s inbox. Messages are known as conversations in Google Groups.
Click on a conversation to read the message.
Use the buttons under the message to respond to it:
Click on Reply to all to reply to the author and everyone copied into the message. The reply will be included in the Google Group conversation and you will be able to choose whether the message shows as from you personally or the Google Group.
Click on Reply to the author to reply to the author only, without including the message in the Google Group conversation. The message will show as from you personally, and will be sent from your Gmail account rather than from the group.
Click on Forward to forward the message to someone else, while still including the message in the Google Group conversation. The message will show as from you personally - this cannot be changed to show as being from the group.
Setting Gmail as your default mail client
In order to use the Reply to Author and Forward options, Gmail must be set as your default mail client in Chrome browser:
Click on the ellipses in the top-right corner of the Chrome screen
Choose Settings
Click on Privacy and Security on the left-hand side of the screen
Click on Site Settings
Click on Additional Permissions
Click on Handlers
If mail.google.com is listed under Blocked, click on the X to the right of this entry to remove it
Open a new tab in Chrome and browse to mail.google.com
Click on the Handle icon in the address bar and choose Allow
Click on Done
